Description
High quality Silk PLA and unique gradient Silk PLA filament from Cookiecad. Silk PLA is super shiny and easy to print with but your prints will be more fragile than classic PLA; that's just the nature of silks. Not recommended for structural parts or cookie cutters. This roll is so much fun to print with! '
Note: The color will change slowly over time, so small objects will only contain one color. You can print multiple items at a time, large items or increase infill to get more of the color change into a single print.
This is Cookiecad Dual Unicorn Silk. It's silk pink on one side and silk blue on the other and prints both at the same time creating a unique color changing effect!
This is Silk Pink Ombré - it has two different shades of pink on one spool! The color will change slowly over time, so small objects will only contain one color.
This is Silk Unicorn- it has three magical colors on one spool! The color will change slowly over time, so small objects will only contain one color.

Printing Settings
For best results, dry filament using a filament drier before use. Keep in an airtight container for medium/long term storage with silica desiccant. [If you hear popping or inconsistent extrusion while purging filament, suggest drying before printing for best results] Filament Drying Guide
| Nozzle Temperature | 190°C - 235°C |
|---|---|
| Build Plate Temperature | 50°C - 60°C* |
| Build Surface Material | Works well with most common build surfaces. |
| Build Surface Treatment | Typically none required. Some surfaces such as glass work best with PVA glue stick or Magigoo . |
| Cooling Fan | ON |
| Printing Speed | 20 mm/s - 40 mm/s |
| Retraction | The ideal retraction settings vary from printer to printer. If you find the retraction settings are causing gaps in your part, the following settings may help. Direct Drive: Retraction distance of 0.5 - 1mm with retraction speed of 20mm/s Bowden: Retraction distance of 2 - 3mm with retraction speed of 20 - 40mm/s |
| Drying Recommendation | ~50°c for 4-6hrs (Only dry if filament is wet, over drying/repeat drying can damage filament) (Filament Dryer Guide) |
| Storage | Keeping filament in an airtight container with new/dried desiccant. |
Based on 0.4 mm nozzle. Printing conditions may vary with different printers and nozzle diameters.
