Description
Cookiecad are really excited to introduce you to Cookiecad PLA, beautiful filament in unique and interesting colours.
This is Funfetti. It is a clear transparent PLA filament filled with rainbow glitter.
This is Star Dust. It is a glittery black filament. The visual effect of the glitter hides layer lines and creates a striking and professional finish.
Fairy Floss - it has three translucent colors on one spool plus silver glitter! The color will change slowly over time, so small objects will only contain one color. You can print multiple items at a time, large items, or increase infill to get more of the color change into a single print. The colors will fade from pink, to purple, to blue and back to pink. Every color in the transition is beautiful. This roll is so much fun to print with!
This is Blue Star Stuff. It is a translucent PLA filament with a hint of blue, filled with silver glitter.
This is Purple Star Stuff. It is a translucent PLA filament with a hint of purple, filled with silver glitter.
This is Mint Star Stuff. It is a translucent PLA filament with a hint of mint green, filled with silver glitter.
Empty Plastic Spool ~177g
If you haven't printed with glitter filaments before, please note: Glitter filaments have a higher chance of clogging.
A >0.4mm nozzle is recommended for glitter/Funfetti filled.
Note 1: PLA with additive will require some drying before use, ensure you have filament dryer or ability to dry filament for best print quality result. Print Demo Prints is provided by cookiecad, most are provided by community so we unable to verify those specific prints but from our experience for our own test print these will require drying before use for best results, and have no issue using our PLA profiles with this filament.
Printing Settings
For best results, dry filament using a filament drier before use. Keep in an airtight container for medium/long term storage with silica desiccant. [If you hear popping or inconsistent extrusion while purging filament, suggest drying before printing for best results] Filament Drying Guide
Note: Transparent/translucent PLA is more prone to be very brittle when wet state or more stiff/brittle normally due to additive used for translucent , we recommended drying before use and avoid using in AMS/CFS (Auto Materials Systems) to avoid materials breaking during a print for better reliability.
| Nozzle Temperature | 190°C - 235°C |
|---|---|
| Build Plate Temperature | 50°C - 60°C* |
| Build Surface Material | Works well with most common build surfaces. |
| Build Surface Treatment | Typically none required. Some surfaces such as glass work best with PVA glue stick or Magigoo . |
| Cooling Fan | ON |
| Printing Speed | 20 mm/s - 40 mm/s |
| Retraction | The ideal retraction settings vary from printer to printer. If you find the retraction settings are causing gaps in your part, the following settings may help. Direct Drive: Retraction distance of 0.5 - 1mm with retraction speed of 20mm/s Bowden: Retraction distance of 2 - 3mm with retraction speed of 20 - 40mm/s |
| Drying Recommendation | ~50°c for 4-6hrs (Only dry if filament is wet, over drying/repeat drying can damage filament) (Filament Drying Guide) |
| Storage | Keeping filament in an airtight container with new/dried desiccant. |
Based on 0.4 mm nozzle. Printing conditions may vary with different printers and nozzle diameters.
