Comparison of the DREMC Textured an Satin PEI side by side.

Finding the ideal print surface can feel like a constant chase for countless options. Enter DREMC’s black PEI flex plates collection.

Let’s take a closer look at three standout options: the Smooth Black PEI, the Black Textured Black PEI, and the Satin PEI. Each offers distinct benefits depending on your workflow and printing priorities.

DREMC Smooth Black PEI Flex Plate – The Polished Performer

This variant catches the eye immediately with its deep, glossy finish is our smooth PEI. Designed for those who want maximum print surface smoothness, this plate provides excellent first layer adhesion and delivers stunning surface results. However, like all ultra-smooth plates, it demands careful handling as fingerprints and scratches can transfer onto the print, and prints should only be removed once fully cooled. Most materials will require protective layer such as Magigoo, only PLA is recommended for this surface without surface prep .

First Layer Aesthetics: Sleek and polished mirror finish
Durability and Care: Needs gentle handling, best kept clean and free of oils
Printability and Removal: Outstanding adhesion best suited for PLA

Ratings
Printability: 10/10
Durability: 7/10
Print Removal: 6/10

DREMC Textured Black PEI – The Reliable Workhorse

This textured plate offers a subtle grain that provides strong grip without being overly aggressive. It gives models a lightly textured base while making removal smooth and easy. Best of all, the texture is forgiving, you can clean it with common solvents, and the surface is more resilient to minor mishandling.

DREMC Semi-Satin Dual-Sided Textured PEI – The Balanced All-Rounder

If you’re after the best of both worlds, the Satin Dual-Sided Plate is a stand out. Its lightly textured satin finish combines the visual cleanliness of a smooth sheet with the durability and forgiving nature of textured PEI. Prints stick reliably but release effortlessly once cooled with certain materials such as ABS/ASA/ABS+, and the dual-sided design means better value as both side can be used.
